Children who are quite sick should stay at home. However, in the winter it’s often hard to avoid the common cold. Mild cold symptoms are permitted on campus, particularly for older children.
Please don’t come to campus if you have:
- Less than 24 hours on an antibiotic
- Distracting symptoms that will keep you from learning (e.g. bad coughs, violent sneezes, etc.)
Adults who have responsibilities on campus should use common sense. Stay home if you need to.
Parents should use their common sense as well. If it’s bad enough that you would be upset if someone gave it to you, then please do keep your germs to yourself.
We encourage all students and parents to wash their hands frequently and to avoid sugary foods (yes, they really do make you susceptible to common illnesses) — it’s amazing what a little bit of prevention can do for your family’s health.
